Welham All-India Basketball Tournament
A day after Woodstock's Win Mumby Tournament, the Senior Boys' Basketball team was invited to the 21st Welham Boys' School All India Golden Jubilee Basketball Tournament in Dehra Dun. Nine teams participated in this tournament and they came from Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Dehra Dun and Bangladesh. Unfortunately, four of Woodstock's players were unable to play at the tournament for academic reasons, but those who played are to be commended for an excellent performance - they made it to the semi finals by defeating Sri Ram School and Modern School from Delhi. The semi finals was against Welham Boys' School where our boys won by 7 points. The final was played on Wednesday, 25 April, and we were defeated by a team from Bangladesh. Prasan Shrestha and Benson Rajan of Woodstock were among the outstanding players at the tournament, and we were proud to have done so well with a depleted squad.
* Wellhams Girls School held their tournament on 2nd - 5th May; Woodstock's girls competed, but were unplaced in the competition.
