| Vice Principal Philip Jacob leads the singing of the National Anthem on Republic Day, 26th January |
Republic Day
This may possibly be the first time Woodstock School has ever celebrated Republic Day. Not that we are not ardent and enthusiastic supporters of what is for many of us our native country and for the rest of us our host country; it's just that as far as I am aware the school has never been in session on 26th January before. If any of our alumni or friends can contradict that assumption, we'll be delighted to hear from you!
Following the decision last year to reduce the length of the winter break, in order to fall more in line with schools throughout the world, the semester began on 22nd January (and, yes, it was and remains extremely cold!). This gave us the opportunity to recognise this important day in an appropriate fashion. Staff, students and employees assembled at the flag pole outside the media centre to sing the national anthem and watch the flag being raised by Jot Singh Ghansola, MLA for Mussoorie. Afterwards there were the inevitable celebratory snacks for all.
