Palm Sunday service
Accompanied by a brass quintet and the voices of the congregation, with palm fronds waving overhead, Mrs. Kumar's fourth grade students processed down the aisle of Parker Hall to begin this year's Palm Sunday service. The second all-school Chapel service of the year, the message was clear - keep your eyes open! Through the use of puppets orchestrated by Mr. Daniel Swanson, music and the message by Chaplain Tim Eby-McKenzie, students and staff were encouraged to see beyond the obvious and to watch for what God is up to in the school and in each person's life.
The message of Palm Sunday and the events leading up to Easter seems to be one of dashed hopes, even despair. But the story does not end there. It did not end there for Jesus nor does it for each of us. Easter will always come; hope will always be renewed. After the service, everyone enjoyed a time of fellowship over traditional hot cross buns and tea in the quad.
