Activity week – Kaza to Manali cycle expedition

Taking to two wheels and braving the elements and thin air, 14 Grade 12 students set out on the cycling adventure of a lifetime this activity week. Covering 140 km of some of the toughest terrain and most challenging roads in India, they cycled through the stunning scenery of the Spiti Valley in Himachal Pradesh from Kaza to Rohtang Pass near Manali. The high point of the trip was crossing the Kumzum La, which at 4,590 m (15,060 ft) is one of the highest navigable roads in the world and rarely conquered by pedal power.
