Activity Week Photo Competition 2015

20 Nov Activity Week Photo Competition 2015

Photo and sketch entries for the Activity Week Photo Competition were displayed again this year at the Media centre.  All were good. Some were just outstanding. They were either well composed, or represented the subject in good light, were techincally sound, just made you smile or all of the above. Rather than being judged by an individual or a judging panel, winning photographs were selected by the highest votes. The competition was open to all and the winners included both staff and students for different categories. You can see and enjoy these entries and more photos from Activity Week on the  Activity Week Album of our gallery.

Best of the show – Joshua, Grade 10

Art Work – Charis, Grade 10

Category: Place – Zachary Conrad, Staff

Category: Flora & Fauna – Gregg & Kerry Rappe, Staff

If, as I think, the background on the fine photo is Kemty Falls, I am pleased. When I was there, sixty years ago. with two classmates for a weekend campout, the place was pristine. When I was last there, perhaps twenty years ago, the whole area was trashed as a tourist detination. I hope that the falls and the area around have been reclaimed as one of the loveliest places in the Mussoorie area.

I was there about 65 years ago, and it was as Watren describes it…….pristine. Beautiful photo!

It isn’t Kempty Falls for sure Warren….and not much has changed. It’s the classic problem that affects most tourist attractions in the hills.

All of the photos will be prized many years from now, by those who captured these special moments!
