“For the first time in the school’s 160-year history, an elite group of singers from Woodstock School have the opportunity to perform in a choral music festival in New York City.
Woodstock School is a co-educational international boarding school located in Mussoorie, India. Nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas, Woodstock students learn in a picturesque but remote setting where music enrichment opportunities are rare.
This year, twenty-one singers from India, Nepal, Thailand, Korea, Vietnam and the United States have been rehearsing music and preparing to join other high school students in the National Festival Chorus for a concert in Lincoln Center under a renowned conductor in April 2015. These are talented and hard-working kids who, due to their secluded location, have never had the opportunity to perform outside of the local community. On the basis of an audition video, they have been accepted into the program and are now raising funds to make the trip a reality. Could you help them reach their goal?” -Abe Okie
