11 Dec Alumni Inspire: Faisal Qadir and Daniel Swarup Return to Mentor Students
Last week, we were delighted to welcome two wonderful alumni back to campus — Faisal Qadir ’19 and Daniel Swarup ’19 — each bringing tremendous energy, expertise, and inspiration to our students.
- Faisal
- Daniel
Faisal, an outdoor sports professional specialising in long-distance running, cycling, and climbing, has been advising our Running Passage for several weeks leading upto the Lurntsu Summit run – a technical 16k trail race where athletes run up a mountain gaining 4000 ft in altitude between the start point and the lurntsu peak. Faisal led a virtual sport nutrition session in November, shared his own marathon training plan, and spent the past week on campus leading hands-on sessions on nutrition, injury prevention, endurance, pacing, and race strategy. Alongside staff member Mohit Holmesheoran, Faisal helped train cross country athletes for the Lurntsu Summit run near Naag Tibba. We are thrilled to announce four Woodstock athletes made it in the top 5, Faisal winning the gold, and the current students receiving 2nd, 3rd, and 5th positions!

Faisal also met with our Early Years learners (Grades 1–4) to talk about sustainability and active living, leaving them inspired and energised. We are deeply grateful for the time and heart he invested in our students, both virtually and in person.

Daniel Swarup ’19, one of our highly engaged WOSA UK alumni, also returned to campus and joined Faisal for the marathon, securing an impressive finish. During his visit, Daniel led engaging sessions on Artificial Intelligence, drawing from his work at Amazon UK. He offered students real-world perspectives on problem-solving at scale, innovation in technology, and the rapidly evolving landscape of AI. His sessions were a huge hit and sparked meaningful conversations about the future of tech.
We feel truly fortunate to have alumni who return to the hillside to share their passions, skills, and lived experiences with our community. Their presence makes a lasting impact — and reminds our students that the Woodstock family continues to support, uplift, and inspire them long after graduation.
