Global Alliance for Innovative Learning (GAIL)

GAIL – an international collaboration for innovation in education

The Global Alliance for Innovative Learning (GAIL) is a progressive confederation of eight schools that are geographically dispersed and espouse and practise comparable educational principles and ideals. All members of GAIL are forward-thinking, independent, co-educational schools.

Each school is committed to developing informed, globally active learning communities that encourage contemporary solutions to international issues through collaboration, inquiry and service-learning initiatives. The Global Alliance is committed to building genuine connections based on authentic engagement, meaningful relationships, co-operation and trust. Implicit in this the belief that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. GAIL is an international framework that encourages student exchanges, staff research fellowships and the opportunity to collaborate through the undertaking of purposeful service-learning projects on a global scale. How does the GAIL experience impact our kids?

The GAIL experience helps kids understand cultural diversity, rather than simply acknowledging it. This helps the students gain perspective. The conference provides a platform for the youth to mingle and see a binding unity that is evident even when individuals come from seven very different schools and backgrounds. It emphasises the importance of global citizenship.

GAIL Conference 2023 in New Zealand

Woodstock School at the GAIL Conference hosted by Kristin School in New Zealand!

“I have been largely involved in GAIL for 1 year now and I have been collaborating with students from other schools around the world on projects that can bring a change to our community. Problems such as environmental and social issues and collaborating to increase awareness on these topics. It broadens your perspective on certain topics, makes you more open-minded and shapes you into a global citizen.” – Raghav, Grade 10, Class of 2026

“GAIL has taught me skills that I will carry with me throughout my journey, becoming an integral part of my personal and professional growth.” – Devyani, Grade 11, Class of 2025

“I have learned so much about the world that I live in as well as even more about myself. The experience broaden my worldview and helped shape how I interact with people and handle myself in situations today.” Veer Arya, Class of 2020

“The experience has helped me understand the world that I live in, and my place in it, a lot better. Needless to say, the experience helped me gain leadership skills that will surely stick with me throughout.” Khushi Agrawal, Class of 2019

“The GAIL experience helped me discover new things about myself and helped me discover my potential as a leader. I learnt that no matter your skin color, your ethnicity, your religious beliefs, everyone is human in the end of the day and deserves to be respected. It taught me that laundry is the only thing that should be separated by color. In addition to that, I learnt how to adjust to new places and people. I learnt the importance of accepting others as they come. Despite not speaking the same languages, we all connected. I learnt how important kindness and giving respect is.” – Kuhu Singh, Class of 2021
