Radio Jockey: Broadcast to Podcast is an exciting immersive workshop designed to introduce students to the world of radio broadcasting and modern podcast creation. Participants will learn the art of speaking, hosting, scripting, storytelling, interviewing, and building high-energy audio content under the mentorship of Akash Tuli, a Radio Jockey with over 30 years of experience at All India Radio. The course blends traditional Radio broadcasting techniques with contemporary podcasting skills, giving students the best of both worlds. Through hands-on practice in voice modulation, mic handling, show planning, news reading, music curation, editing, and live simulation, students will discover their unique voice and develop the confidence to express it. By the end, each participant will record a polished mini radio show or podcast episode—fun, professional, and uniquely theirs. All recording equipment and practice materials will be provided to use. Students will receive their professionally recorded podcast or radio show segment and a certificate of completion.

Day 1 – Radio to Podcast: Understanding Audio Media
What is radio? How does it work? Evolution of broadcasting, history of All India Radio, World Radio Day, National Broadcasting Day. Fun vocal icebreakers.
Day 2 – Finding Your Voice & Mic Mastery
Breathing exercises, vocal warm-ups, projection, articulation, pacing. How microphones work, mic distance, studio etiquette.
Day 3 – Show Styles & Music Genres
FM formats, podcast formats, talk shows, dedications, jingles, news breaks. Understanding Indian & Western music genres and how to curate playlists.
Day 4 – Scriptwriting for Radio & Podcasts
Show links, transitions, hooks, storytelling frameworks. Writing ads, intros, outros, and segment scripts.
Day 5 – News Reading & Dramatic Reading
Headline writing, delivery techniques, structuring news. Drama, narratives, and expressive reading.
Day 6 – Interviewing Like a Pro
Types of interviews, researching guests, framing questions, hosting panel discussions. Students conduct mock interviews.
Day 7 – Public Service Broadcasting & PSA Creation
Purpose of Public Service Broadcasting Day, ethics, responsibilities. Students script and record public service messages.
Day 8 – Show Building & Studio Practice
Creating a show rundown, selecting beds, segment planning, timing, teamwork.
Day 9 – Introduction to Editing & Production
Working with basic editing tools, trimming audio, adding music beds, transitions, improving clarity.
Day 10 – Final Podcast/Radio Show Recording
Students record their full 5–8 minute show/podcast segment. Review, celebration & certificate ceremony.
