Summer at Woodstock – Music Composition and Production

Write and produce your music

In this class students will learn how to write songs, lyrics, and instrumentals, and how to record the songs in a modern studio.

Who should take this course?

This course should be taken by anyone who has interest in poetry, song writing, music, and music technology. You don’t have to be a musician to take this class, as long as you love music and are ready to dig into making it yourself.

How will participants be different when they’ve completed this course? What skills or knowledge will they have gained?

At the end of this course, students will be able to create songs from scratch, writing their own lyrics, and creating electronic arrangements for them. They will be able to record instruments and voices, to make professional quality recordings. We’ll even cover how the music industry works, and how song writers get paid in this digital era.

Why is your experience so relevant for this course?

I’ve been a professional song writer for over 30 years. I’ve written more than 250 songs, released 23 albums, and toured the world performing and selling my music for decades.
